How to Add Page Numbers to a PDF Online

Page numbers are essential in theses, reports, and contracts so participants can reference specific pages. You can add numbering online without a PDF editor.

Choose the number position: bottom-center is standard for most documents; bottom-right for business letters; top for academic papers. Typical font size is 10–12 pt.

The starting number does not have to be '1'. If the document is part of a multi-volume project, set the desired starting value. You can also skip the first page (title page).

Numbers are rendered on top of existing page content. If the document has narrow margins, ensure the number does not overlap text – add margins using the crop tool first if needed.
