How it works
- 1Upload a PDF with pages skewed by scanning.
- 2The service measures each page's tilt and straightens it automatically.
- 3Download a squared-up document — readable and OCR-ready.
Frequently asked questions
- How is the tilt detected?
- From the text blocks: the algorithm finds the page's ink pixels, fits a minimal rectangle around them, and computes its angle. Every page is corrected by its own angle.
- What is the maximum correctable skew?
- Up to 15 degrees. A stronger tilt usually means the sheet lay sideways — rotate the page with the 'Rotate' tool first.
- Why deskew before OCR?
- Text recognition is noticeably more accurate on straight lines. The 'Deskew → OCR' combo gives the best result for crooked scans.
- Does quality change?
- Pages are rebuilt as images (they were images already — it is a scan) at 200 DPI.
